I am a student at Delaware County Community College. My major is health science. I will receive my associates degree in two more semesters. I Have experience babysitting all different ages ranging from newborns to teenagers as well as special needs children. I have spent much time with a child who suffers from autism and feel more than comfortable to embrace another. I am a reliable worker with an outgoing and caring personality. I simply enjoy spending time with children. I pride myself on being able to play and act goofy with children, yet still have them listen and respect me. I love to spend the day with kids doing their favorite activities whether its coloring, dancing, or playing games. It's very easy for me to connect with kids. While I was in highschool my parents passed away junior year and I was next in kent to be power of attorney for my elderly grandmother who suffered from dementia. I was working overnights to pay for utilities and bills while also caring for her and completing highschool and graduating with my diploma. My grandmother was not able to walk. I had to bathe, cook, clean, and exercise her brain with puzzles. Also I had to give her the correct dosage of medicine every morning and would help do leg and arm excerises that her previous nurse tought me. Not only was I helping my grandmother but she helped me. She helped me realize how much I love to care for people. Putting a smile on someones brings such joy to my heart.
