Hi! My name is Lydia Elia and am currently looking for a full-time nannying or nanny-share job. I now live in West Philadelphia, working as a full-time waitress. I have taken a few months off from childcare work but have an extensive background in childcare experience. I have been babysitting and nannying for over six years. In high school, I nannied full-time in the summers and babysat part-time after school. Following my high school graduation I took a gap year, at which point I was hired as a full-time nanny and household manager. I worked 10-12 hour days for two children ages 7 and 9. I was responsible for meals, transportation to school and activities, and household chores. Following the gap year, I began my studies at Temple where I studied early childhood education. At this time, I also began working at Westtown School as a Middle School assistant teacher. Read more In the summers, I was a full-time live-in nanny for two children ages 1-3. I did this job for two summers. The first summer, I also opened up a small daycare for the youngest of the two children in my employer's home. The goal was to start a playgroup and casual daycare for local children ages 1-3, who were currently unable to socialize due to covid. I individually, advertised, organized and oversaw this daycare of roughly 5-10 children for about 2 months that Summer. This past year, I also spent my weekends supervising a nursery at a local church, where I oversaw 5-8 babies at a time, ages 12-24 months. This Fall, I am taking yet another break from school and am currently looking for another nannying job to fill my time and save up some more money to return to school. As above mentioned, I have experience as a nanny, housekeeper, teaching assistant, and daycare instructor. I am open to all types of jobs and opportunities. As for my personal interests, I love all things nature. My current favorite activity is taking my puppy out for long walks in Wissahickon. Over the years, I have also loved taking the children I have cared for out in nature. My other hobbies include running, yoga, reading, and crafting.
