Throughout my life, I have cared for children in various capacities. As the oldest of three children living at home, I have helped take care of children since I was very young. To this day I informally take care of children by babysitting my siblings' children (ages 9, 7, and 5). As far back as middle school, I helped to oversee the other children during children's church and taught Sunday school. Most recently, my formal experience has been working in the kindergarten and first grade classroom of an after-school program, providing homework help along with supervising and planning activities for the students and preparing snack for over 60 students. Previous to that, I worked as a live-in family assistant and nanny for the family's 4-year-old daughter. I cooked meals and prepared snacks; folded laundry; did light cleaning; ran errands; walked the dogs; scheduled and managed the cleaners, painters, and carpet Read more cleaners; and did many other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Directly after graduating from college in 2012, I worked as a family assistant and tutor. The job included: tutoring their 8-year-old daughter, helping to take care of the three children (ages 7, 8, and 12), cooking meals and preparing snacks, folding laundry, running errands, walking the dog and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. In the summer of 2010, I volunteered at a summer camp, where my co-counselor and I were responsible for 10-12 campers each week. I worked with children from ages 8 to 12 throughout the summer, caring for their needs: reminding them to wear sunscreen, ensuring that they made it to meals on time, teaching them about having character, and leading them through the exciting outdoor activities. I aided in horseback riding, led hikes, created team cheers, life-guarded, helped teach children to swim, and led the children in many team-building games. Previous to that, during the summer of 2009, I participated as a children's ministry intern: facilitating an interactive time to teach and mentor the children each week, organizing a summer outreach (planning the program and security and supervising the volunteers). In high school, I participated as a basketball coach for second grade girls. I worked hard to instill good team attitude and a spirit of togetherness.
