Hello there, My name is Maria Guevara. I have been in the child care field for about 6-7 years . I started out as a nanny for about a year and a half with baby L, when he was 3 months old. I learned so much from both the experience and the parents. We worked well as a team which caused a great work environment. I ended up moving away from there area so that led me to have little change in the work field . I continued working with children by entering the private preschool facility. I enjoyed that because there was a lot of movement through out the day and I got to have connection with the kiddos. That’s where I learned much more; lesson planning, creating age appropriate activities, creating safe spaces for the children and the list goes on. But as time progressed I realized I enjoy a more one on one child - teacher interaction so I went back to nannying for a set of twins which I loved! They were 5 months when I began with them. It was such a fun experience to see them grow and learn off of each other and grasp what I taught them. We had a schedule that me and mom agreed on. We read books in Spanish,English and ASL. We did lots of themed art! Then eventually did sensory activities which were lots of fun! Sadly, they moved away! So, now I’m looking for a full time position as I will be moving to the Miami Florida area at the middle of August. I’m looking for a family I can create a bond with a become a help for them as well.
