Hi! My name is Laura and I live in Conway, SC. I love children and animals and spend most of my time outside on our 2-acre mini farm with chickens, goats, dogs and cats. I have three wonderful children of my own who are 16, 12, and 10 years old! I began babysitting regularly at 12 years old and most recently cared for my niece while her parents worked from birth through age 3, and an elementary student who completed online school (along with our children) at our house during the pandemic. In the past, I volunteered with elementary and middle school Lego robotics teams as a coach and volunteer coordinator, and had so much fun! In the past few years I've been career-oriented as an engineering manager, but chose to leave the field in pursuit of something more meaningful. To me, there is nothing more important than making a Read more difference in the life of a child! My absolute favorite thing is seeing the way a child's eyes light up when discovering something new in the world, like the many different kinds of birds, butterflies, and other wildlife around our house. I'm very fortunate to live in a unique spot, close to international drive but with enough space to spread out and really have a chance to explore nature. I have experience as a former emergency response coordinator at a facility with hazardous materials and am well-versed in safety. Most importantly, I truly enjoy being around children and seeing the world through their perspectives! Each child is different, but I believe they all need support, love, and understanding from a positive role model who builds them up and conveys that they are good, and they are cared about for who they are as people, no matter what.
