I’m 26 years old and I have both personal and professional experience in childcare. I have 5 nieces and nephews ranging in ages 5-16. I’ve been babysitting them since I was a kid myself, so they’ve contributed to a lot of my childcare experience. As far as professional experience, I worked my church’s nursery for about 3 years, and I worked as a part-time facilitator at Render Agile Learning Center from August 2018 until March 2020 when we had to close our doors due to covid. Render ALC focused on self-guided education with an emphasis on play-based learning. With our different approach to learning we were able to cultivate an environment in which children were treated as individuals and encouraged to follow their own passions and interests, with guidance from our facilitators. Working at Render was my favorite job I’ve had because I got to work with so many wonderful Read more kids, and watch them grow as individuals as well as growing together as a community. I do specifically have experience working with Neurodivergent children, which is very important to me. I believe all children are unique in their wants and needs, and there is no such thing as a one size fits all approach to caring for kids. I am a very patient and empathetic person, and I believe that this is what has lead me to have a passion for childcare.
