Sporty, Nature-Loving Nanny and Tutor from Oxfordshire, England. My enthusiasm lies in Early Years Education, Key Stage 1 Primary Education, Teaching English as an Additional Language, and Autism. Given that a child learns best when they love what they’re learning, my teaching and facilitation style is one that draws upon a child’s interests and learning style to access the curriculum as much as possible, and uses positive behaviour management throughout, to motivate, raise self-confidence and regulate emotions for a happy learning environment. As someone who is a big advocate of learning through play, physical activity, being outdoors and respecting the natural world, I like to spend time with my charges out and about exploring the natural environment through their senses, doing lots of sports and going on outings. I have significant experience with children from 3 to 11 years old, three and a half years experience teaching English as a foreign language and four and a half years working in private households, inclusive of two high profile families and a further 4 families with household staff. Overall, I have over 7 years childcare experience. Fun and engaging beginner’s Lacrosse Coach (5-15 years old, 16+), having played the sport for thirteen years myself. I am passionate about individual development and progression and enjoy encouraging others to participate in physical activity/find their sport. Experienced at supporting children and young adults with Autism and an enthusiastic practitioner of ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) and Sensory Integration strategies. I play the Piano, speak Spanish, hold an enhanced DBS, am a confident driver with my own car, have housekeeping experience, am able to assist with homework, help prepare healthy meals and am hard working with a high standard of work. I am considered very organised and friendly and am happy to help in any way required. I am seeking either a short-term (up to 1 year) placement such as preparing a child for school entry, or a long-term, predominantly sole charge (can be within a team environment where communication and collaboration are strong), Rota Governess-type role for a relaxed, friendly family, wherein I can use my initiative to plan educational, play-based (sometimes messy!) and sporty activities, provide homework support and language lessons, take him/her out on excursions to libraries, parks, etc. and have adventures together. I hope to be a positive role model for a child and build strong rapports which will allow them to learn, grow, think and create in a seamless way whilst having fun.
