Dear family, My name is Lexi Greathouse. I am a certified Elementary Teacher K-6. I taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade for five years. I have some Montessori training and certifications. I also substitute taught as a permanent sub for a pre-K class of children ages 3-5 who had learning disabilities and deafness. I grew up the middle child of 5 kids with a younger brother, 8 years younger than me who I helped take care of growing up. I also babysat infants and toddlers in my later teen years. I absolutely love children and babies!! I currently help babysit my oldest brother's 19 month old baby, Abe, who I love so much! I am passionate about helping families with their little ones who are so precious and deserve a loving, caring and gentle nanny figure who wants what's best for your beautiful little ones. I believe in following the individual child’s emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical developmental needs from a compassionate place. I have been practicing my own mindfulness meditations for about 10 years now and believe deeply in the power and importance of cultivating a deep connection with yourself, others and nature, as well as living from the heart space in a mindful, gentle and compassionate way. I think, speak, and act from a place of loving-kindness and compassion. I demonstrate a calm and peaceful demeanor even in stressful situations. It’s important to me that your child feels safe to express their feelings, and learns how to do so in a mindful and healthy way. I also have a background in permaculture farming and hold a Permaculture Design Certification. I know a lot about native plants, including medicinal and edible plants you can find right in your backyard. I love growing veggies and having a garden. I also have background in dance, art, and singing. I'm also a very good chef and can cook some very healthy and yummy meals for your little ones. I am very health conscious and love my veggies!
