Hi! My name is Avery! I have lived in Nashville my whole life, and I am currently a student at the University of Alabama. I am a junior studying interior design and also a part of the Create to MBA program. I have always loved children! I started working in the nursery and babysitting for various families at the age of 12. Ever since then, I have been involved in many work and volunteer opportunities with children. My three most significant employment experiences have been as a summer camp coach, an assistant art teacher, and a full-time nanny. I worked at Let it Shine Gymnastics as a camp coach for over four years, leading groups of preschool and elementary school-aged children through a variety of tasks safely and enthusiastically. I was also the assistant to an art teacher where my main role was to help children complete art projects and Read more improve their artistic abilities. Last summer, I nannied for the sweetest 18 month girl from 8-5 everyday. I have really missed being around children while being at college and am looking for the opportunity to spend the summer with some sweet kids! My parents always expressed to me the importance of continuation of learning and activity during the summer, which has really shaped my experience over the years. I have always loved to read and would always spend my summers reading as many books as I could. My emphasis on education allowed me to become a National Merit Scholar and receive a five year scholarship, which covers my undergraduate degree and MBA. I am also passionate about art and understand the importance of creativity in development. I feel like my experience in coaching, teaching, and education give me an advantage in helping children have both a fun and enriching experience!
