I am a mama bear. Babysat since I was 12 Camp (sleep away 2 month programs) counselor for intermediate school age children - 2 summers Substituted for K-8 students Mother of 2 amazing children, now 31 &32 Went to every lecture on child development, discipline, and more. Read every book available on same. Read to my children every day since they were born. There are so many reasons this is important. Helps with imagination, recognition of more sophisticated words (great for SATs), physical development and more. Caring for a child is about them. It isn't about the parent. Out of the box thinker. When my daughter first started to eat solids, she would drop food over the edge of her high chair. This isn't to aggravate /get attention. This is learning about gravity. I lifted my children out of the high chair and let them pick up the food from Read more the (clean) floor. This behavior lasted a week or 2 and never showed up again. When out and about, my children were aloud to touch anything but only with one finger. This made sure there were no accidents and putting things in the grocery cart. Lots of other solutions. I love children. I am still waiting for grandchildren. I can't wait.
