I first cared for two children, the oldest was 2 and the baby was not quite 1. I cared for them daily while their parents both worked and i was out of school for summer vacation. After my freshman year of college, I spent my first summer of three with the same children. Tehy were 5 and 3 the first summer. I helped the youngest (boy) with potty training. The family had a pool in their backyard, so most days the children wanted to swim. I reinforced what their parents were teaching about skin and pool saftey. I prepared their breakfest and lunch daily. I took the children on adventures to the zoo, the mall, and historic areas in our town. The last family I provided longterm, consistant care was from 2010 until my graduation from college in 2011. When i began, the youngest was 3 months old and the Read more oldest was 2. The oldest had been in my mother's day out class and he had struggled with the transition, however he quickly adjusted and excelled. Near the end of the summer, his mother asked me if I would be interested in providing her boys care while she returned back to work part time. I agreed. With the baby, I prepared both breast milk and formula bottles, introduced solids and ensured his schedule was maintained.
