I worked for over a year in the nursery and preschool for Collierville United Methodist Church, where I cared for classes of infants or toddlers (aged 0-18 mo. and 3-8 years). I also taught Bible lessons and crafts with large classes, helped children with their homework or other activities, and provided small meals to children on a regular basis. My responsibilities included ensuring child safety, documenting all employee childcare practices for parent’s reference, and communicating with the parents of children. After I left the CUMC Preschool, I began working at the YMCA in Collierville. My role there was not centered on childcare, but included leading a Youth Strength Training class for children ages 10-16 and certifying them to use gym equipment. I am an excellent student, and I would love to help your child with his/her studies if they are to that age. I graduated twenty-third in my class of Read more 487, with a 4.38 GPA; I also have had extensive experience in helping younger children with their studies, as I grew up in a tight-knit family with a younger brother (Eric, 12 and Natalie, 17) that I am very close to. I am an adept cook (thanks to many hours in the kitchen with my mom, an amazing chef), and I am very comfortable performing meal prep for the children I am watching. In addition, both my mom and my younger brother have an auto-immune disease that severely restricts their diets, and so I also have experience both baking and cooking meals while avoiding major allergens and contaminants. In conclusion, I completely love working with children. I enjoy taking the children I am watching on trips, doing arts and crafts, cooking, and anything outside. I believe in pillow/blanket forts, hot chocolate, popcorn, and movies are key components of any rainy day. As a child, I had the most amazing babysitter who made sure our time together was never boring, and I hope to do the same for the kids that I have the opportunity to watch.
