Are you open to welcoming a “pseudo-grandmother” into your family? I provide loving, dependable care and build long-term relationships with the families I serve. After losing my husband to Alzheimer’s, caregiving has become a meaningful and joyful way for me to channel my energy and interests. I’m light-hearted, high-energy, and love watching children develop. I’m reliable, calm under pressure, educated, well-traveled, and highly experienced. I’m trained and equipped to respond to medical emergencies; I carry a pediatric-centric first aid kit. Your littlest ones will be treated like rare, delicate flowers. I have newborn experience and provide my own baby sling, Ergobaby carrier and stroller. At the end of each day, I send parents a typed summary of feeding, sleep, and developmental milestones. For pre-school and elementary age children, I use age-appropriate activities, learning kits, musical instruments, and educational apps (ABCMouse, Khan Academy Kids, Teach Your Monster) to support cognitive, motor, Read more and social-emotional development. I believe in limited screen time and engaging children creatively—mind, body, and spirit. For older children, I’m an excellent parental proxy. I use positive reinforcement to build character and am equally adept at coaching deficits. I’m a frequent-flyer at libraries, dance academies, dojos, gyms, courts, fields, music studios and school pickup lines. Safety is always a priority: I drive a highly rated Subaru Outback and employ Britax car seats. I curate an upbeat, kid-friendly playlist to make car time fun. If your children are still discovering what makes them tick, I would love to help guide that journey. I love to cook! Children learn by example that good nutrition requires time and effort.
