Hello devoted parent, I am a calm and loving caregiver from Vancouver, B.C. with 15 years of experience caring for children aged two and up, and four years' experience caring for infants. I am currently available for part-time work in Nashville. I am particularly interested in caring for children aged 5 months to 1.5 years and working with families who would like to incorporate music education and basic sign-language into their children’s lives. My diverse background includes training and certification in CPR, first-aid, life guarding, music education, dispute resolution, and law. I combine all of my skills and abilities from this rich experience to provide your children with engaging, educational, loving, and supportive activities and care. Two special elements that I bring as a nanny are basic sign-language and music therapy. These have proven deeply rewarding for the children I have worked with. I am a native English speaker. I can also read to your children in French and Spanish (and converse at a basic level in these languages). My philosophy and approach to childcare and education is informed by my faith in God, and my belief that children are whole persons deserving of the same respect and consideration as adults. In particular, I am inspired by the values and approaches of Mr. Rogers, RIE (Resources of Infant Educarers, Magda Gerber, Janet Lansbury), and Dr. Robin Berman (“Permission to Parent”).
