My name is Emma and I am originally from Signal Mountain, TN. I moved to Knoxville for college and graduated in May 2016 from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in health and human sciences. My major was child and family studies. During my time in Knoxville, I worked at UT's Early Learning Center for Research and Practice (ELC) for three years. The ELC is a quality care and learning environment for children ages four months-kindergarten. I absolutely loved my time there and had the privilege of caring for children of all ages, infants and children up to four and five years old. However, infants and young toddlers are the groups I prefer most. Before I moved to Knoxville for school, I worked as a Nursery Worker at Red Bank Baptist Church and Rivermont Presbyterian Church. Additionally, I have babysat for many, many families on Signal Mountain and Read more around the Chattanooga area. Overall, I have around 11 years of experience with children. Maria Montessori, the namesake of the infamous Montessori schools, said "Play is the work of children." That is one of my most favorite quotes when it comes to little ones and learning. Children learn best through playing and while we see playing as just that, play, when children are playing they are learning, experiencing new things, exploring new thoughts and ideas. It is vital that children be able to do their job! I would love and greatly appreciate the opportunity and privilege to be able to care for your child(ren) and get to know yourself and your family.
