Children are my passion! I love to help kids learn in fun creative ways and I am extremely patient. I have a big imagination and I enjoy coming up with games and activities to keep everyone entertained. I have over nine years of experience in childcare including raising my own two boys for the past three. I have a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old who are home with my husband during the day. I have worked in several daycares and afterschool programs as well as nannying for some wonderful families. After that I was brought on as the assistant director of Spilled Milk Social club, an afterschool program and all-day summer camp here in Austin. At SMSC I oversaw daily operations and activities including homework (during the school year), crafts, plays and performances, fieldtrips etc. Although I am more than capable of having 40+ kids in my care, I prefer having Read more the opportunity to give all my attention to a few kiddos at a time. I am comfortable with all aged children and I do have experience with twins/multiples. I have my own transportation and I have no problem with pets. I'm also happy to do light cleanup, laundry, dishes, food/meal prep etc. I am creative and fun but capable of following and enforcing guidelines/expectations in a compassionate way. In my opinion, children feel most secure when they feel understood. That feeling of security gives them confidence to learn and grow.
