My name is Sabian Garza-Plata, I am 20 years old and have been in the childcare industry since I was 12. My aunt was a nanny and I would go with her to work and take care of the 2 babies (one being a toddler, the other being an infant) everyday in the summer. While I was doing that, I was also the only person under 18 that was allowed in the church nursery to provide care. I have been working in the church nursery (specifically infants and toddlers) ever since. When I turned 16, I took a job as a year-round swim teacher for kids ages 2 and up and would teach 4 children per class how to swim, with 7-9 classes per day. At 18, I was promoted to a baby swim teacher and became certified teaching baby swim classes starting from 8 weeks old. At the same Read more time, my best friend gave birth to her first son and I would go over regularly to help with her newborn and housework while she rested (I also later did this for her second newborn, a few months ago). I am CPR/First Aid certified for both adults and children (including infants).
