As a passionate and experienced childcare worker for the past five years, I can say with confidence that I love being able to assist children and their families. That passion is rooted in my witnessing of the effects of not having the extra support most families needed. It allowed me to understand the importance of support and community. I have a passion for the arts. I also love to cook things I've never tried. Most importantly a big part of my life is being a big sister. I’m the oldest of eight and have enjoyed each one of their stages of growing up. I have a long-term goal of wanting to be Read more a lawyer who specializes in child custody. I have a short-term goal to get my associate degree in child development and education. Now let’s get to business! As a RBT ( registered behavior technician) I worked with children diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and other behavioral disabilities. I worked with clients one-on-one to achieve specific goals given by their doctors, parents, and BCBA. I’ve also worked as an IHHS (in-home health support) and during that time I gained experience monitoring children on given shifts. I had also been responsible for in-home care of the child. This included; Picking up before and after school, medication schedules, laundry, cooking, and planned daily activities. This is a brief introduction to the skill set I provide! I am thankful to have found Sitter City. This is an opportunity that allows me to still have a healthy work-life balance, continue my education, and expand my career in childcare.
