I grew up multiculturally and bilingually and am the oldest of three siblings. I enjoy watching kids learn through play and I'm very nurturing. Having been the oldest child I always felt very motherly towards my siblings and looked after them. I was entrusted with babysitting other families' kids in my adolescence and teens. I always volunteered to serve with children in Sunday school and then was the assistant church youth minister during my college years. During my higher education I started a successful after school program for kids that the church implemented for the community. When I was a teenager, my grandma found out how much I loved teaching kids, so she gave me a special training manual. I'm so grateful for that encouragement. The greatest testament to my ability to successfully care for children is having reared my own son.
