I have more than 10 years of paid experience working with children, six of them as an elementary teacher in both regular & special ed. I have 2+ years experience as a nanny. I have been a stay-at-home, home-schooling mom for 21 yrs. I have cared for other children in my home, integrating them into our home. I have lots of volunteer experience with children: Children's Ministry Leader, VBS Leader, Leader of Kindergarten dept. at church, Asst. Kindergarten Leader at Camp meeting & worked with the 3-5 yr old age group at seminars in both Phoenix & Houston. The highlights of our home were family worship, reading lots of stories, going on field trips, & singing. We played in the creek, climbed trees, played hide & seek, and hunted for fossils & arrowheads. As a nanny, I love reading and telling stories to the children. I enjoy seeing the joy and wonder as I share with children about God's creation- animals, our bodies, weather, birds, colors.... I enjoy nature, music, Bible stories, & a healthy lifestyle. I find the way our brains work fascinating. I enjoy studying brain function & cognitive development.
