Hi there!! My name is Shaye East! I adore spending time with children, and would love to help you out with your kiddos! My Experience: -During the year of 2021-2022, I began and completed a one year course internship for my town's elementary school as a student intern. During this time I interned as a teachers helper for grades prek-2nd grade! -During the year of 2022-2023, I began and completed another one year course internship for my towns two daycares. During this time, I interned as yet another teachers aid for ages 6 months - 6 years old! -During the year of 2019, I began babysitting for those in need of help around me. Whether it be family friends, friends of freinds, or others I got to meet, I did it all. The school year of 2019, and 2020, I was a consistent sitter one day a week (not counting Read more sitting for other families). During the summer of 2021, I began full time babysitting/nannying for a 4 year old boy at the time. I have continued babysitting during the school year since then, 2021-2023, and full time nannying during the summer, 2021-2023, 4 years total of babysitting, and 3 years (summers) nannying. -(Because of my years of interning with the elementary school and two day cares, I am a certified level one teachers aide). -I have run/put together many opportunities for children to engage in cheerleading activities. One being called "Mini cheer camp". This was an organization put together for the years of 2019-2023 in which around 100 girls grades prek-5th grade gathered together for a week to learn all about cheerleading. I was the leader of this and it always was such a wonderful time! Another activity during the time of 2019-2023 was called "Varsity for a day". During this one day a year activity, girls aged prek-5th grade came to a afternoon camp and learned material. They then had the opportunity to cheer along the sidelines with the big high school cheerleaders! Throughout all of my experiences, the majority of itineraries I completed, consisted of: -Monitor students to assure safety. -Aid in cognitive development, reasoning, intelligence, language, and memory. -Evaluate student progress. -Educate students at all levels. -Assess students' abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. -Grade students' assignments and exams. -Direct students towards a positive objective. -Offer meaningful advice. -Provide and administer snacks. -Help keep classrooms tidy. -Organize creative activities and educational games (e.g. drawing, and crafting) -Teach children appropriate social behaviors, such as being respectful to each other and helping out with chores -Transport children to and from school and extracurricular activities -Tidy up play areas and children’s rooms -Assist young students with homework -Ensure children’s safety during indoors and outdoors activities -Take care of children in case of injury or illness -Perform housekeeping tasks as needed Work with parents to ensure children’s growth and social development Qualifications: -CPR Certification -(In the process of completing First Aid Training Certification) -Level One Teachers Aide -Open to Covid Vaccination if wanted (nannying only). About Me: -I am 18 years old and have just recently graduated high school! I am ready to explore and see where life takes me! I have spent the majority of my high school years with children. I have grown to adore spending time with them and know it's what I want to pursue for my career! I am currently taking (online) college courses to obtain my degree in early childhood education! I plan to create an environment that is welcoming and full of love for all of those who enter my classroom! After I become certified, I plan to teach overseas in areas where education is most needed. With this being said, I enjoy working with children because I love getting the opportunity to see the world through a child’s eye again. I think it’s wonderful just how much they can truly open your eyes to the world around you again, and as an adult! With every child I meet, I consider them a friend. I respect all children in which I engage with as they are human just as much as we are. I believe honesty, kindness, compassion, and going big for the children is the way to go. This is their first go at life, I want to make it as exciting, educational, and safe as I am able to. -I would best describe myself as someone who is patient, enthusiastic, and pays attention to detail, whether it be my surroundings or the people in which I am around. I often describe myself as optimistic and kind when engaging with others! -I grew up as a competitive cheerleader since the age of about 5! Tumbling, football games, cheer practice was all my schedule consisted of for a while! After I eased down on other objectives, I had more free time. I grew to love drawing and painting. I do it in my free time and create gifts for others. I love the process and the feeling after finishing it! From time to time, I love going to the theater to watch a musical with my family. I have been in several different mucosal theater camps but never fully embraced the theatre life. I adore singing and music. I have helped several of my family members with singing lessons! I love reading books, especially on vacation, and whenever else I’m in the mood for it. I most definitely have a heart for traveling and exploring this earth. Going on big trips, as well as little day trips makes my heart happy! Going to museums, the zoo, art exhibits, or just people watching! I love it all. And lastly, family time! This is a big one for me, I try to spend as much time with them as possible. Whether it be cooking meals together, going on walks, or shopping together, we do it all. Of course I have to include spending time with my furry friend, Bentley! A two year old Australian shepherd. He truly makes my day. Extra Information: -My first language is English, however I have spent the past four years learning Spanish. I have completed Spanish one and Spanish two and have a basic understanding of the language. It has been about two years since I have taken a class, however, I have had plenty of practice since then! Throughout my high school years, I was in a Spanish club and practiced year round to take the National Spanish Exam and now have completed it a total of 4 times. I was president of the Team my senior year, 2023, and have enjoyed leading practices, get togethers, and testing to review Spanish material. During my time interning for the elementary schools/daycares, I was asked to help the Spanish-only speaking students. It was wonderful for both them and I! We created close connections with one another as we were able to help each other out! I wish to learn even more and become fluent in hopes of improving my understanding for myself, as well as others! (With this being said, I would love to teach a little Spanish, if wanted!) -I cook dinner for my family every night, so helping out with food, when needed or wanted, is absolutely no problem! -I have grown up in a tidy household, which means cleaning every day! Dishes, wiping counters, vacuuming/sweeping, decluttering, organizing, cleaning bathrooms/mirrors, steaming floors, tidying living room, bedrooms, laundry, etc. I am used to picking up after myself, and/or others, and would love to help keep your house tidy and neat if wanted! This is someone I do for all of the families in which I babysit/nanny for. I understand life gets busy, so this is another option in which I am able to help! -I am more than willing to help with tutoring/extracurricular activities/sports/and open to learning new skills in order to help your little ones! Wrap Up: Thank you for taking the time to read all about me, as well as my experience and motivations for childcare! I look forward to potentially hearing from you!
