Since I was 16 years old, my main work experiences have been in tutoring and childcare. Since my now 4-year-old cousin was born, I've been consistently caring for her while her mother works - making sure she eats properly, spends enough time playing and enough time learning skills she'll need as she approaches her first year of school, and most importantly, learning how to get her to smile when she feels like crying. Additionally, I've been a mathematics and English tutor with students ranging from 7th graders to college freshmen. These past 2 years, I took over the education of my younger brother full-time. Homeschooling him has been a blast and he's improved to the point where he's now caught up to where he should be for his age and is re-entering public school. I have a passion for kids. The smile on my cousin's face when she tells me she loves me before nap-time warms my heart. Just knowing I can make an impact on someone's life is one of the highest-priority goals in my life.
