Hi there, My name is Gabriela and I recently moved here from Austin Texas in August! I moved here to go back to school for pre-med, so that I can some day become a pediatrician, with a focus on oncology. Health has been my passion for years, (aside from children of course). I absolute adore children and have been babysitting and nannying part-time, since I was 12 years old. I’m now 31. Once I started my “big girl” career eight years ago, babysitting became a hobby, as nearly all of my friends have children, and I have a three year old Godson of my own. So although I have not been a professional nanny since my college days, I’ve had even more valuable hands on experience as an adult with my friend’s kids, as I’m their first call when my friends need help. I’ve helped raise my Godson and his Read more two brothers, who are about 1.5 years apart. I work full time Monday - Friday in the main operating room at MD Anderson, in which we do some of the most advanced pediatric oncology surgeries worldwide. I attend class in the mornings on week days. I’m looking for a long term weekend nannying / babysitting job to supplement my income. I have endless experience with babies, toddlers, middle aged children, and older children with special needs such as autism. I was born in Austin Texas, but I’m also a Brazilian citizen, due to my mom being from there, so I’m bilingual. I also speak Spanish fluently. This can be a huge benefit, if you’d like your children to learn a different language! I was a lifeguard for several years in high school at Lifetime Fitness, so I’m highly trained in both swimming and child safety at the pool. I am BLS (Basic Life Safety) and CPR certified through the American Heart Association. I’m very comfortable with pets of all sorts! I’ve grown up with Colin retrievers, but I now have a great Dane. I love dogs, cats, all pets! I welcome the opportunity to come meet your family and kiddos in person. Considering the times we’re in these days, it’s more important than ever that parents screen their babysitters and anyone who comes into contact with their children at any given time.
