For most people, finding their true passion in life is a constant battle; fortunately, I have never been faced with this issue. My passion has been resting inside me for as long as I can remember and it is one of the main, core elements of my life that perpetually inspires me to live my life to its fullest capacity. We, as parents, all know what our children are capable of. We all know that our children possess such a raw, creative presence that never ceases to inspire the individuals that experience it. This creative power has been fascinating me since the first day I experienced it. This experience marked a huge change in my life and, because of its lasting significance; I would like to briefly share it with you. This story brings us back to the mid-sixties when my brother and I were sitting around the house on Read more a Sunday afternoon. The girl I had made plans with that day had to cancel due to family complications, so, needless to say, I wasn't in the “best” mood. My brother on the other hand, being the toddler that he was, was in a charming, up-beat mood. I vividly remember the expressions of empathy that ran across his little face as he ran around my room, trying to cheer me up by bringing me my favorite toys. This sweet act of kindness clearly illustrates the charm that lies inside our children and I always refer back to this point in my life whenever I am looking for a strong burst of inspiration. In a nut shell, I am the mother of two wonderful sons with nearly 40 years of experience in the world of child care. For me, looking after children isn't a career choice; it is my deepest, inner purpose.
