Hi! My name is Jessica Braley, but I go by my middle name, Hope. I'm currently finishing up my degree online from Berklee College of Music and will arrive in Santa Monica, CA to permanently live on September 7th, 2015. I am originally from Houston, Texas and I have been working professionally with children since 2001. I started at age 11 babysitting and teaching swim lessons to 6-year-olds locally and my passion to teach continued when I started working for a home school enrichment program as a teacher's aid in 2003. In 2004 I began working full-time in high school for Kids In Action and quickly progressed from an assistant party director to teaching Kids Day Out, constructing gymnastic curriculum and teaching gymnastics, directing children's birthday parties and aiding in kindermusic courses as well as baby development classes. I kept this job all throughout high school until I graduated in Read more 2008 and then began nannying in Austin, Texas. I worked part-time for wonderful families in the Austin area and eventually began college courses at community college to build towards applying to my dream college, Berklee College of Music for Music Therapy. In 2011 I took a nanny job in New York City working for a family living on the Upper West Side of New York and spent every day making sure the day was filled with fun, creative, musical, and educational activities as well as cooked and cleaned. I'm very experienced in cooking all types of foods from different cultures and also extremely active and enjoyed a wide range of sports and can play and teach guitar and piano as well as sing. I began Berklee in the summer of 2012 in Music Therapy and have worked in nearly every setting providing Music Therapy, especially to children struggling in school with behavioral issues. I believe in a holistic approach to life and a good balance between work and play. I am currently pursuing spanish as a second language and plan to one day own my own children's program with a wide range of services from music activities, kids day out, and also cooking classes with an emphasis on "mommy and me" so children can bond with their families. Building a strong family is important for the future and I truly enjoy investing lots of love, energy, and my education to helping children become the best version of themselves.
