I’m a Wheaton College graduate wanting to take some time off from school before continuing my studies in Bible and Theology and/or becoming a mom :). I am most at home getting to know and taking care of people and places. Despite babysitting siblings and children of friends periodically throughout high school and college, I never considered myself a “kid person” until I began teaching Sunday School with my husband, Malachi, last year (primarily 3rd-5th graders, but I’ll occasionally help out in the nursery through 2nd grade classes.) Through the relationships I’ve formed with these kids, I’ve learned that to spend time with kids is to learn alongside and from them, to see the world through their eyes. I delight in getting to know the unique personality, interests, opinions, and giftings of each kid in my class. I love grocery shopping. I have experience tutoring English reading and writing, and would be comfortable working with kids on any grade-school level subject. I also love the outdoors, reading aloud, and creative projects. I am flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn. I have a Red Cross Babysitting Certification from a number of years ago, and I'm willing to consider pursuing other certifications/trainings.
