Hire this babysitter at your own risk. On two separate occasions she failed to communicate in a timely fashion that she would not arrive on time which resulted in me arriving late to work on the first incident and completely missing a very important meeting on the second incident. After the first incident, I decided to give her a second chance believing that she was just inexperienced. But after arriving on time as scheduled for 2 shifts, I foolishly let my guard down and believed that she could be trusted. On the morning of a very important meeting I received a text message that she would be "running late." Her scheduled time was 8am & my meeting was scheduled for 9 am. She texted that she would arrive at 8:20a which still gave me more than enough time to make my mtg. After that I received no communication updating her arrival time. By 8:44am I had already texted and called multiple times to inquire where she was and if she was still planning to arrive at all. Finally received a call stating she was "17 minutes away." This put her arrival time at 9:02am. Completely unacceptable. The worst part is that she took little if any responsibility for her actions. She blamed it on a "miscommunication" and never actually apologized for lying about her arrival time, lying about encountering a wreck near her house (later admitted that she wasn't even traveling from home), and failing to communicate in a manner that would have allowed me to make an alternate arrangement and make my meeting. In the end, I look at the situation as God's protection because it is my firm belief that an individual who cannot handle communicating in an honest and responsible manner (life happens & I get that) cannot and SHOULD not be trusted to care for a vulnerable child.
