Hey there! My names Emily Swanson and I’ve had about two years of paid child care experience. I have multiple references and would be more than pleased to share them with you! I work as a nanny during the week days, but have been looking for something extra on the weekends. I was previously CPR and FirstAid certified and I have experience caring for special needs children. I am a very reliable and hard working person that loves caring for little ones!

It was hard to find the right rating because for the most part we found Emily to be reliable during the summer time segment of the job. She was never late, always let us know if she had to have a specific day off, was flexible to me and my husband's work schedule (which was totally unpredictable) and our kids did like her. She sometimes had to be encouraged to get the kids out of the house but was always sure to be careful in taking them out when she did. We wanted someone who wasn't going to be on their phone all the time instead of taking care of the boys which I believe she was very attentive to them. Our issue with Emily came with once school started we asked her if she would be interested in helping to get our boys off to school on the mornings that she did not have college because my husband and I have very early morning schedules and had a conflict with getting them up and off to school. She agreed she wanted to continue working with us and even offered to take care of them if we had date nights or other work functions. The day before school started I sent her a message asking if she could meet me in the morning so I could go over everything with her and she could help get the boys off to school with me. She never responded which is very unlike her. The first day of school I called her and left her a voicemail asking her if she had received my text and if not, once again asked her if she could come the following day to help get the boys to school. I also told her that if she was no longer able to do the job, because I understood schedules change, or if she was no longer interested, to please let me know so I could try and find someone else. She never returned my call. The fact that she never responded to my message or voicemail left us with the impression she was no longer interested. We had to scramble last minute to figure out what to do without someone to watch our kids. It left us in a bad position and disappointed in her lack of responsibility. If she would have at least contacted us to let us know she was no longer interested or could not accommodate her schedule to ours anymore I would probably be a little more understanding but I know parents do not want to be left without childcare at the last moment so I felt I needed to share.
