OK, I promised myself and I proclaimed to my partner and friends that I wouId not be hiring anyone under 21 to care for my #1. Wrong. Well, I just hired Lana yesterday for a live-in position starting in about a month, and part-time hours started today. She is a warm, polite and respectful young lady, who seems to be older than the calendar shows. This because of her youth experiences, her education, her outlook, and the fact that she is taking responsibility for her education all on her own. My almost 9 year old grandson enjoyed her company, despite being sick when she babysat. I love the fact that she will not be sitting idle, by her own description, she finds things that need doing and does them. I look forward to a successful transition from the Nanny we've loved for 6.5 years to Lana, a very different type of person on a very different mission.
