I have 26 years of childcare experience and have been a nanny since 2002, I also have my own 2 children, ages 14 (8th) and 11 (5th). I have Pre-k and Montessori experience and I consider myself a career nanny. I have worked with ages newborn-17 years, with my specialty being between the ages of infancy-5 years, experience with multiples and 5+ at a time. I am also a Newborn Care Specialist, have worked as a night nanny to help families with sleep training, as well as I have been a house manager/family assistant for two families. Finishing up my degree in Human Development and Family Studies and I am very excited about being able to pair my experience with an education that aligns with everything that I do. I am a proficient organizer and multitasker who believes strongly in manners, respect, communication, consistency, maintaining schedules, power of imagination and play, giving children choices acceptable to me and a follower of rules. I believe in positive reinforcement, redirection, taking breaks, taking toys/items away and a following up with a clear understanding of consequences from actions. Giving a child choices at an early age helps the child understand consequences or rewards from their decisions, a fact of life that helps a child understand, as they grow into a kid, teenager and adult, that they are solely responsible for their decisions. I also believe strongly in teaching valuable life lessons as the child grows. Of course, ABC's, 123's, shapes, colors, spelling their name and so on are a part of my lessons as well. My house management and family assisting duties cover all aspects of helping a family run effectively and efficiently. All errands, including, but not limited to, grocery shopping, dry clean, or any odd end requests by parents. Creating, maintaining google doc for all contractors and frequency of maintenance needed, including notes per visit. Creating and managing any and all google calendars needed, making personal and Dr appointments for all family members, even the pets! Overseeing any financials, acting as a liaison when working with outside reps, travel agencies or other new hires. Overseeing other domestic workers, collaborating with management team in another state or other personal assistants. And so much more!
