Hi, I’m María! I am a military spouse and first time mama to a spunky little one-year-old. Although this is my first rodeo with a child of my own, I’ve grown up helping care for kids all my life from helping my mom with her own in-home daycare to helping babysit my brothers’ children (all now in grade school) when I went home for college and assisting friends with their kids while their husbands have been away on deployment or other service after I got married. I’m passionate about people and pursued a human development degree in college where I gained extensive knowledge in child development from parenting practices, to attachment, language acquisition and so much more. As a parent, I apply everything I’ve learned into my child rearing and continue to expand my knowledge base by taking various courses on different topics in development. In the last year alone Read more I’ve taken a course on CPR/First Aid, baby and toddler sleep, the science of parenting, respectful parenting and disciplining, and have spent hours learning about infant and toddler nutrition/feeding, sensory play, and the Montessori philosophy. This last year of motherhood has helped me discover just how passionate I am about caring for little ones, and given me a joy like I haven’t experienced before. I love applying everything I’ve learned with my daughter and seeing her thrive because of it. I hope she and I (she’s my little sidekick!) can have the opportunity to care and love on your child!
