Career nanny who has worked with a variety of families both on a temporary and long-term basis. A recent position wrapped up after just shy of six years. Professional experience ranges from birth to teens as well as special needs adults and personal assistant duties. I am definitely an "on the go" nanny and love working with progressive families who appreciate the opportunities derived from child- led, nature-based learning. A child's most important work is play, and I believe allowing children to independently follow their interests is a gift. With a heavy basis in RIE and Possitive Discipline, I believe that children should be allowed to learn what their boundaries are, while maintaining safe external boundaries for consistency with all of their adults and learning to navigate the world. I stay up to date with best practices and am especially concerning safe sleep and carseat safety. I admin a local nanny group with a focus on finding continuing education opportunities on topics involving best practices and social opportunities as well as a parent and nanny group which helps educate both sides on best practices, legal pay, balanced contracts, etc. Additionally, I have an adult son, so I absolutely have empathy from firsthand experience regarding the struggles of parenthood and life as a working parent. I love being part of a team and have a family-first approach which should support a parent's needs, provide an additional safe adult for the children, while enabling a positive space for the family to maximize their enjoyment of time spent together.
