I'm Emma, I am a first year graduate student at Texas State University studying professional counseling. My bachelor's degree was in Victim Studies with a Human Services minor. As a result, I've had many classes on human development, effective communication, and how to work with people! I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I have worked at a Montessori preschool for the past year with nearly every age group from infants aged 0-6 months to preschool classes aged 3-5 years! Additionally, I have worked at a summer camp as an arts & crafts teacher. I believe art is an important expression for children and am always developing fun age appropriate art projects for the children I babysit. (ages 3 - 7) This past fall I worked as a nanny for a family, helping their 6 year old with remote learning. I enjoyed this experience greatly as I was able Read more to synthesize my previous childcare experience, but tailor it to this individual child's needs. I loved this one on one, slower paced environment, as I was able to accomplish so much more fun activities without having to worry about classroom management! I love children, and I hope to become a play therapist one day. As such, I consider nannying to be a sort of foundation in working with children that I hope to build my future practice on.
