To Whom It May Concern: Some people say they have a very diverse life experience. Well, I truly believe I do. As I look back over what seems like many lifetimes, I see the farm and the small farming community where I grew up. I see our Nation’s Capitol in Washington, D.C. where I began as a receptionist and finished as the Communications Director for one of the most famous U.S. Senators ever, Senator Ted Kennedy. I then remember working for one of our world’s largest airplane manufacturers and Federal computer systems’ company where I began as a resource administrator and grew to not only a systems engineer, but a project manager coordinator for the country’s largest defense personal and pay system for all military services. Finally, I see one of the world’s foremost tool maker, Snap-On Tools, where I supported my husband by assisting with the books, sales tax, Read more and day to day operation as the only women franchise owner in the country. You might be asking, why is this woman applying for a position as our nanny? It would be easy to say I’m ready to slow down or getting older. However, in my heart of hearts, I have always loved children and my goal was to be a teacher, but as they say life got in the way. I know my journey is not over and I still have a chance to do what I love and work with children. I have been the neighborhood go to mom for fun, monument visits, trips to the Smithsonian, the playground, swimming pool, or athletic fields. My husband and I took in school children from the neighborhood to help single family parents as they worked 2nd and 3rd shifts. I mentored a little girl from Kindergarten through 5th grade thanks to Boeing allowing us the opportunity to mentor at a local community school. In the past several years I have also cared for my daughter’s and her friends’ children. I have recently relocated to the Sugar Land area to be closer to my grandchildren. In thinking about what options I have to do next, when my daughter mentioned working for a family as a nanny, I knew hands down it was no contest. Nothing could be more rewarding and gratifying than serving children to end my diverse career and fulfill my destiny! Thank you for your consideration.
