I began babysitting when I was 13, by 17 I began working for a clinic. I gained experience assisting therapists with children with a variety of needs-- from autism, speech delay, cerebral palsy, and spina bifida. Following this I nannied and cared for two little boys, a 18-month-old and a 4-year-old little boy with autism. I would take him to different therapies, including speech and ABA (for behavior). I worked side by side with the therapists with things such as potty training, speaking and social awareness. Two years ago I was offered the job I currently have, nannying two girls. They are now 8 and 12. The 12-year-old has severe ADHD and dyslexia, this has allowed me to have first hand experience with learning disabilities. In summer I worked full time M-F 7:30-6:30pm, and would take them to various places such as the zoo, parks, swimming, tutoring, as well as Read more running errands.
