As the third of twelve children, I have seen firsthand the joys and stresses of parenthood. I spent most of my growing-up years helping my mom care for my seven younger brothers and two younger sisters. I understand how stressful and complicated it can be to take care of children, and I truly feel that my experience with, and love for, children enables me to step in and alleviate that stress as needed. My experience caring for children includes: 1. Six years as a paid babysitter for many families from my church and in my neighborhoods. 2. A few months as a nanny in high school, caring for two sisters a few hours each week. 3. Part-time mother's helper for a pregnant mom of six children--four boys and two girls--under the age of ten (this included homework help, carpooling, cooking, cleaning, laundry, putting kids to sleep, etc.). 4. On-call mother's Read more helper and house cleaner for a mother of twin baby boys. 5. Two positions as a house cleaner, and one position as an apartment custodian (I believe every babysitter should clean up as much as possible while on the job--they're trying to give the parents a break, right?).
