I recently graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Education. I have a passion for teaching and working with children which I realized when I was a young teen and began babysitting. My babysitting experience mostly consists of short-term jobs that I had during my teens. In addition, I began volunteering at the Hogle Zoo in SLC when I was 14 and would help supervise and engage with children who were signed for zoo camps. I continued to help with zoo camps and volunteered with children for a total of over 700 hours by the time I graduated high school. In college, I continued to gain experience with caring for and teaching children at various internships. I interned with the Education Department at the Hogle Zoo in 2020 and helped run and develop zoo camps. Most of the activities and lessons that I Read more designed were geared toward younger children. Last summer, I interned at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C., where I also helped to create educational programs, but this time for children from 3rd to 5th grade. This past year, I also became AED and CPR certified.
