Meet Valaya

Hello! I have earned my bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders, which means that I have learned a lot about the language development of children and about disorders that can affect communication. In addition to some babysitting and preschool experience in my past, I've been working as a substitute teacher for a few months. I have taught all ages from preschool all the way through high school, and I've come to love teaching at elementary schools, despite how rambunctious they can be for subs, because the sweetness you find in those little ones is like none other. Before this, I worked in food service for three years, which taught me a lot of communication with others and handling food. I also assisted a professor in a Child Language Development class as an undergraduate teaching fellow, grading assignments and answering questions from the students. I also take care of a 2 year Read more old girl at least every other weekend and some holidays, who belongs to my boyfriend. We've created a very close bond, and I look forward to being able to play with her and encourage her development every time I get to see her.
