I have always enjoyed children & working with them. At age 12 I was often requested to babysit for neighbors and acquaintances in my small town. By those who went out for date nights, and by those who needed a day time sitter while they worked. At age 14 I became a nanny for a family with a 3 month old baby and a 6 year old son. From 15-18 I was often called upon (mostly by extended family) to watch their children -usually about 5 kids- while they went away for a week or two on vacation. During that time I would take care of meals, get the kids to school, help with homework, and clean house.
