Hi! My name is Ava. I’ve been working as a childcare provider for 15+ years. I attended the University of Pittsburgh’s CASE Program, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology. Throughout this program I studied Early Childhood and Special Education. I student taught preschool, third grade, and middle school (in an Autism Support Classroom). I love working with children and utilize my background knowledge in Early Childhood Education to make everyday activities an opportunity for growth. I believe it’s important for children to feel confident in self-expression and encourage that through a Holistic approach – i.e. incorporating daily activities that foster mindfulness, cognitive development (executive functioning and meta cognitive skills), social/interpersonal skills, emotional development, physical development, and creative expression. I always make sure to respect each family’s unique dynamic and embody those principles in all aspects of my career.
