Hello Parents, I'm a stay at home Mom in Bridgewater, Virginia and my daughter is starting kindergarten in the fall! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I've helped out with babysitting on a part time basis throughout my time at home with her and would love to continue working on a more regular basis as a nanny in the fall, starting on August 26th. I'm also available this summer to work on a part time basis while I have my daughter. Professionally, I've worked as a full time infant teacher in a preschool in Blacksburg, Virginia and as a substitute teacher for ages 1-4. I worked in another preschool in Woodstock, Virginia as a substitute across the ages levels as well as leading indoor activities for all age levels. I've served as a nursery coordinator and teacher at our church in Blacksburg and as a Sunday School Read more teacher. After I got my BA in English from Virginia Tech, I went to JMU for my license to teach English for grades 6-12 and have experience in a 7th grade English class. I've volunteered as a reader in an elementary school library, worked as a legorobotics teamwork judge, and have previous experience as manager and lifeguard and the Edinburg Pool, as well as teaching swimming lessons. I believe in gentle parenting and teaching our children how to regulate emotions in a loving environment with clear boundaries. With a background in English, I love reading to my daughter every day. Research shows that reading to our children is the strongest predictor of lifelong learning and strong reading and writing skills. I also believe in eating fresh, healthy foods as much as possible, which helps our kids grown and learn. I would love to nanny in our home where I have everything set up for crafts, outdoor time, reading, and hands on learning. My goal is to love and care for your child just as I have my own! I am open to working in your home, as long as I'm home in time to get my daughter off the bus.
