I began working with children when I volunteered at Albemarle County Parks and Recreation in 2010. I loved the position of counselor so much that I accepted positions to babysit some of my camp kids after camp ended. I also took a job at Michaels Craft store where I was a Demo specialist and headed the Michaels summer craft camp and hosted birthday parties. I was in charge of holding birthday parties with anywhere from 5 to 25 children of any age. Summer camp consisted with 2-4 hour classes with children 4 and up. While in school at Virginia Commonwealth University, I volunteered at the Science Museum as a Girl's Summer Science Camp coordinator. "Camp" sessions were weekend long overnight events held at the science museum. I also was able to work as a camp counselor for Charlottesville Parks and Recreation. At the camp I worked with around 40 kindergarten Read more aged children for about 8 hours a day. In addition, I have also been able to spend my days with my nieces and nephews who are 1,2,3,4, and 5. I am CPR and first aid certified.
