Working one on one with children has always been something I thoroughly enjoy spending my time doing. A little about my experience; While in high school I completed a two year dual enrollment program (the second year being field experience directly in a head start program) to become certified as a lead daycare teacher. I've worked in daycare and head start programs as a teacher for infants, two's, three's, and school aged children. I have a lot of experience with infants specifically. I also grew up with four younger siblings and was expected to take a large role in providing care for them. I have a one year old son myself, am CPR/First aid certified and can provide proof of these certifications as well as references. I have a philosophy when working with children. I believe one of the most important concepts is the difference between simply supervising or actually Read more interacting and engaging with the child on their level. When we pay close attention to children's cues as far as what their wants and needs are, and give them our full attention, they tend to respond and have the ability to learn and communicate much more effectively. I've also found this approach provides a much more trusting and rewarding relationship. I hold a high value in education from an early age. Reading, boosting creativity and expression through daily art projects, circle time(a time to focus on colors, counting, ect), and weekly themes are all part of the curriculum I plan to implement. I will focus on helping your child meet and master age appropriate mile stones. As well as understanding the value of friendship, sharing, and helping others.
