Hello! My name is Jackie, and I have 10 years of childcare experience with kids of all ages. I am a vaccinated, CPR certified, non-smoking nanny with a good driving record and a reliable car. Availability: Full Time Location: Fairfax, near Fair Oaks Mall. About Me: I’ve worked with children of all ages, and have experience with pick up/drop off, homework help, meal prep, light house cleaning, errands, keeping a feeding/napping schedule, etc. My personal philosophy is very gentle but firm. We explored the world, and focused on learning through play. We learned about nature, plants, bugs, and animals of all kinds. Students were age 2-5 years old. Class size was 4 children. I was working with one other teacher, who is wonderful. I’ll miss the kids so much! Before that, I taught at a Maker School. We focused on hands-on experience and creating with all kinds of mediums and tools. I taught a small 6-child pod of K-1st graders. Phonics, reading, writing, math, science, history, art... etc. Prior to that, I was teaching 2-4 year olds at a larger preschool. I worked as an Assistant Teacher, and then as a Music Teacher. I’ve also had experience as a swimming teacher, and as a STEM class teacher. My interests range from art and video games, to science and languages. I believe that the best way to connect with a child, is to take interest in what a child likes to do, and to join in! Bonus: I paint, sing, drum, and all kinds of things!
