Hello! My name is Cheyanne. I just moved to D.C. from Chicago and am looking to help out families during this time as a way of helping pay off my student loans. Throughout high school, I babysat for my friends’ families. Additionally, during my senior year of high school, I participated in an internship with a 1st Grade class. I have worked as a tutor for several years and am very good at helping students with their homework, particularly writing, reading and comprehension skills. I have also worked as a Girl Scout camp counselor. During this time, I learned new, fun ways to keep children feeling engaged and encouraged. I also became CPR certified and received First Aid training for this position. I’ve nannied for families with twins and multiple age ranges so I’m pretty flexible in terms of family size! I am a 33 year old Early Childhood Major, who graduated at NVCC. I am graduating this Saturday with my bachelors in Education (with Licensure Pre-K to 3rd) at GMU. I have received my Career Studies Certificate and my Infant and Toddler Certificate as well. Back during my summers in high school I volunteered at the Thurgood Marshall Child Development Center in DC. I did over 500 hours there working in the toddler room, and occaisionally the Pre-K room. For a brief period during my college studies I also worked at the Cody Child Development Center on Fort Myer in the infant, toddler, and pre-k rooms. I have also consistently had my training in CPR/First Aid. I have babysat in many home settings now and would love to work with a new family! I’d love a family whose schedule allows me to get to my summer night class on Mondays @5:30pm. I live in Pentagon City and would prefer to work for a family in the area if possible but if not that’s ok too!

I am a mother of two teenage boys, so have been parenting for about 15 years. Prior to becoming a mother, I was a nanny for many years while in college and graduate school and a babysitter while in middle and high school.
