I have always had a passion for working with children of all ages, starting at the age of 13 watching my little brother & younger cousins. It was when I turned 16 that I got my first real job, which was of course working with children. I worked at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, Va as a "Cub Club Camp Counselor." I helped children ages 5-12 with fun crafts, puzzles, song & dance, reading, and various educational activities including birdhouse making and cooking lessons. As I approached my Junior year I continued to work with my Youth Group at Church as well as becoming a Teacher's Assistant at Childtime Learning Center. I worked in the Toddler room and assisted the Lead Teacher with snack/lunch, diapering, playground safety, and more! When I graduated from Woodside High School in 2012 I then enrolled in Thomas Nelson where I started my path to Read more achieving my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I'm still currently enrolled as of today. I've also worked at Kingsmill Resort as a Summer Camp Counselor where I lead children (ages 5-12) in activities such as fishing, paddleboating, arcade gaming, hiking, crafts, cooking, and much more. I just currently had my first child in June of 2014. He is now two months old and allows me to take my passion for children in the workplace home with my every single day! I am loving, kind, patient, and I am really devoted to helping young children of all ages, including infants, to mold into amazing people. I look at children as if they are the future - future doctors, lawyers, presidents, cures for cancer, etc. No child should be left behind and with my educational background, training, & pure love for children - I believe I can really make a difference. I am currently CPR/First Aid certified, and plan to renew my certification annually the American Red Cross.
