As a teenager and throughout college, I did lots and lots of babysitting for family friends and coordinated childcare for my church. I also spent two summers as a full-time nanny for very dear family friends whose kids (a boy and girl) were newborn and 3-years-old the first summer, and 2- and 5-years-old the second summer. I am from Harrisonburg, Virginia originally, and lived there until I finished my undergraduate degree in Social Work at Eastern Mennonite University in 2011. In August 2011, I moved to Seattle as a member of a program called Mennonite Voluntary Service, in which I volunteered full-time for a year as the coordinator of a non-profit organization's after school tutoring center for middle and high school students in foster care. I lived in Seattle for a total of three years, working in various social work positions related to children, education, and community engagement. I moved Read more back to Virginia - this time to Norfolk - in August of 2014 in order to be with my partner, Raul, who is a physicist at Jefferson Lab in Newport News. I am currently taking courses at the local community college part-time in order to pursue a career in nursing. I am looking for part-time babysitting or nannying work. I am a very positive, energetic, and fun-loving person. I am responsible and reliable - someone a family can count on to show up and be there for them.
