Hello! I have 10+ years of experience as a nanny. Currently I am in between nanny jobs. My wonderful family is moving to Los Angeles this summer and I'm staying in hot hot New York! I've spent the last year caring for a two year old girl and four year old boy. We did everything from baking and cooking to art projects, library and museums trips, and lots of playground time. I have plenty of experience with cooking meals, giving baths and doing bedtime. I went to school for theater design focusing in props and puppetry. Along with being a nanny I have worked in preschools all the way up to high school. I have worked at after school programs and was the lead after school kindergarten teacher for a school year. I have worked with individuals who have ADD/ADHD, down syndrome, developmental delays and emotional trauma. With all of Read more my past nanny jobs I have done grocery shopping, cooking, light house cleaning, errand runs and taken care of pets. I have been a live-in twice and enjoy the flexibility it offers both myself and the parents as well as the bonding it allows for the children. I am not tied to being a live-in as I do currently live with my boyfriend in Brooklyn but am still open to it. I am creative person at heart and like to give children the opportunity to learn through their creativity. I enjoy making art, exploring our neighborhood and parks, cooking and baking with children, weekly trips to libraries, museums and play spaces and when it's sunny spending time at the playground. Imagination is very important to me so encouraging fort building, creating spaces with cardboard boxes, playing dress-up and reenacting movies or books are great ways that I encourage them to think outside the box. I am originally from Vermont but have fallen in love with New York and love being a nanny!! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out! Harmony has been a Nanny/Companion/Teacher to my 10 year old son for the last 2.5 years. She moved out to the LA area with us from Philadelphia and I can only say how grateful I am to have had her as a caregiver to my child. Harmony is creative, flexible and motivated. She is organized and neat but "does not sweat the small stuff" She transported my son to and from school or home-school cooportives on a regular basis, prepared meals, tidied the house, did his laundry and help him organize his room and complete his homework. She engages and calms children through reading to them and plays virtually every board game known to man and because she is patient, flexible and calm, she is able to work with children who struggle with anxiety and frustration. Harmony is an educator and her adventurous and courageous nature and global curiosity was a wonderful gift in our household. She took my son on overnight and daytrips that he will never forget. Harmony is a rare gem and we will miss her when she decides to seek another adventure. My son has grown so much under her care. He adores her and will always remain in contact with her. Harmony is magical!
