I have been working one on one with kids for 3 years now. Before becoming a nanny I worked at Mountain Village School in Stowe VT for almost a year. I have worked at a home daycare and have done a lot of babysitting ever since I was 14/15 years old. I work for a handful a families, some here and there and others on a regular weekly schedule. I find working with kids to be a very rewarding job because of many reasons. One reason being that my job is to make kids happy, and to give them the opportunity to do what they love. For instance, one little girl I used to watch, absolutely loves swinging on the swing. Being able to bring her to the playground and watch her smile and laugh is rewarding knowing she's doing what she loves. Each day I work with kids, it Read more brings new excitements. From watching the train come down the railroad tracks, to seeing a cow at a farm, a walk to the park, a special snack from the farm stand, etc. It's being able to be that one person the child gets to share his or her excitement with. I feel as though while working with kids, I go home relaxed and happy with what I'm doing, not to mention that everyday I do work with children, I am taught something different every day! Knowing that I serve a purpose to someone else's life is very rewarding.
