After living 23 years in Chester and Westminster VT, I've recently relocated to Fairfield County. I guess you could say I've re-relocated since I grew up in Darien. Although I have no formal training or certifications, I do have a successful adult son and 2 grandchildren in the Boulder CO area. Nora is 3 and Max will be a year old in a few weeks. Despite making several trips a year to visit them, it's way too far away for a doting, loving granny to get her grandchildren fix. Your child or children would obviously not be a replacement for them but a way to share the love I have for kids. Don't be turned off by my granny status as I'm far from the rocking chair and knitting stage. I enjoy indoor and outdoor activities: arts and crafts, reading, nature walks, game-playing, child-appropriate baking and cooking and lots more. Read more By telling me of your child's individual likes and dislikes, I can encourage them to hone their skills and help to open their minds to new ideas and activities. When my son was in elementary school,  I babysat for the children of several friends, which was an arrangement that worked out perfectly for all involved. To see these babies now has been wonderful since they've turned into awesome young adults. The friends I babysat for still live in Darien and are available as references.
